Pastor Robby Magee began his ministry at First Baptist Church, Sealy, Texas in 2014. He has served in many roles in ministry for more than 24 years. Robby's first ministry experience began at the age of 14 as a weekly youth speaker for the church he attended. He then began leading music for the youth group, and Sunday morning adult gatherings quickly thereafter. While attending Stephen F. Austin State University (more info on educational background below), he founded a Christian worship band that traveled throughout Texas and Oklahoma to minister at camps, retreats, and Bible studies.
Following undergraduate studies, Robby entered the private business sector, while continuing to travel with his band and serve as a bi-vocational music minister. Upon completion of graduate studies, he entered full-time vocational ministry as a senior pastor. Robby has since completed doctoral studies, focusing his dissertation research on theological training in majority-world contexts. Robby's passion for missions and evangelism has taken him to many countries throughout the world, preaching the Gospel and training pastors, equipping them to do the same.
Robby is an avid outdoors-man and rancher, and enjoys many other hobbies such as woodworking, metalworking, golf, tennis, etc. He remains involved in local and global ministries through leadership committees and consulting. Robby is married to Sarah who serves in administration in the local school district and holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Stephen F. Esther was born and raised in Sealy, TX by a family of farmers. She graduated from Sealy High School and met and married Clarence Merritt, a Houston Fire Fighter. They were married for 46 ½ years, had 2 beautiful daughters who added 2 sons-in-law, 4 beautiful granddaughters and 2 lovable great grandsons. The Merritt family moved back to Sealy after Clarence retired from the fire department in the mid-1970’s. Although he passed away in 2005 from cancer, Esther would later say, “The Lord gave Clarence the ultimate healing and took him home.”
Esther has been a member of our congregation for more than 35 years. She served as church secretary with a previous minister and furthered her education by obtaining coursework to better-serve the church during that time. Years later, we were able to talk her into coming out of retirement as a layperson! She maintains the membership directory and database and assists in keeping the church informed on social media and through the weekly bulletin. She also assists with the Hospitality Team, preparing meals as needed throughout the year to bless others.

Tara is also an integral part of Vacation Bible School each year, leading the recreation team outdoors. She also serves as a physical education coach in the local school district. Tara is mom to five children, and wife to Ralph (you will see him listed as a leader below!).
Craig serves as Chairman of Deacons, Connect Prayer Group leader, and Trustee at First Baptist Church. The son of a pastor, he brings a valuable perspective to ministry teams and Pastor Robby on a weekly basis. Prior to moving to the Forresters moving to Sealy, he served in the United States Marine Corps, where Major Forrester was deployed several times. A graduate of Texas A&M University, where he met his wife, Becky, he was a member of the Corps of Cadets as an Aggie. Becky remains involved at FBC in several capacities, most recently as a member of a property exploratory team. Together, the Forresters have three children, Jenna, William, and Jake.
Ralph has extensive experience in operations and management in oil & gas and chemical industries. This experience has allowed him to serve as Director of Building & Grounds Ministries, Assistant Treasurer, and as a member of the Deacon Ministry.
